Vegans & Vegetarians making a difference!

WE CREATED A GROUP FOR VOLUNTEERS - GO NOW

We've had people wanting to volunteer so we decided to share what we need right now. This community is a work in prgress and we are simply allowing.

Feel free to suggest whatever you want to contribute. Here are activities I know we'll be needing.

It will be one week before I start contacting you to get the projects going.

- Meet & Greet

Welcome new members by leaving a comment and answering any questions they might have.
- Local laison with the No Kill shelter
First you must nominate your local no kill shelter. Once selected you would be awarding the checks we send, posting pictures and information about the project.
- Web Design
Create banner ads and badges for members. Creat web pages for our site
- Activist
We call this an activist position because it could work intoa full time paid position. If selected we place coin boxes in your town. You spend 4 hours a week picking up the money form the boxes and depositing the money at the local bank. This is flexible as you can go any time the businesses are open to collect the money. These boxes are similar to the cans or plastic boxes at cash registers that ask you to donate your change.
- Media Relations
Will write press releases and get media coverage for our issues
-Chat Room Admin
You will be admin in the chat room which means if someone gets out of hand you can ban them and kick them out. If they simply dont know the rules you direct them to the page we're creating that will have the rules.

Please post where you live, what kind of time you have for any activuity you wish to do.

Namaste,
Chris , Christi and Sean

Chris - I just saw your list and I went - OMG! I actually am good friends here in New Market, Mn, with Toni, the woman who runs Windmill Animal Rescue, the local no kill animal shelter. She funds it from the revenues of her small feed store, but she has some dogs, some natural wild animals, and I think perhaps 80 abandoned and feral cats, so the vet and feed bills are daunting for her. (Many people have abandoned their companion animals when they were terminally ill, so they are living out their lives at Toni's shelter.) I am in the process of doing "sponsor invitation" PIcture Plus greeting cards to hang up, for individual cats there, to try to get monthly pledges for some of the animals. I guess what I am saying is that at least down here, I would love to be the local liason with Windmill Animal Rescue.

I work my home business full time, so I can do whatever is required.

I also have some availability for chat room admin - when I am in town. I will be traveling about 1/3 of the time between now and New Year's.

Thanks for the great community, Chris. I am working on a project involving polar bears, but I had forgotten all about Toni's shelter, thinking you were looking for more global projects when you asked if people knew of good things that could use the money we draw in ads.....

Wishing you Peace and Prosperity -
Autumn

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your MySpace message directign me here. I'm unfortunately not able to volunteer for any of what you've listed above., but what I have been doing & will continue to do is to put the word out through my online networks. I'll do what I can to get people to sign up, I've already been harassing people today on MySpace!! Will you send an announcement out when the new badges are ready? (There I go with those badges again!) Hope to join the chat tonight, though not sure what to expect as I've never "live chatted" before!

I would love to help! I could really do anything, but I have experience as a graphic designer and as an admin. I was an admin for this site: www.votemeoff.com, for a few years. It is mostly a forums site, but I'm sure I could admin a chat room. I am also a graphic design student and am fluent in Illustrator and knowledgeable in Photoshop. If you would like to see some of my design work, just send me a message on here or an email.
